"Housing for Tomorrow, Today."
US public benefit corp founded by ex-SpaceX engineer Nick Callegari, building gantry-less translational slip-form robots that print walls with embedded MEP.
Verustruct is a US public benefit corporation developing robotic construction technology for affordable, sustainable housing. Its stated aim is to provide "affordable, sustainable, safe, and beautiful housing for everyone" through a suite of new robotic construction systems. The company was founded in late 2024 under the name Impact3D by Nick Callegari and later rebranded as Verustruct. Callegari is a former SpaceX mechanical engineer who worked on Dragon spacecraft structures, including the Polaris Dawn EVA structure. He studied at Princeton (bachelor's) and UC Berkeley (master's) and took an MBA at the Yale School of Management. The venture grew out of Yale's innovation ecosystem, and the team has worked from ClimateHaven, a climate-tech incubator in New Haven, Connecticut; the company's website references New Jersey.
Instead of a gantry or robot-arm 3D printer, Verustruct is developing translational slip-form construction. The technique adapts slip-form concrete construction, combining automated formwork, robotics and conventional structural materials. Its compact, gantry-less machine is tethered to a material truck and forms integrated structural walls in place. The system embeds plumbing, electrical wiring and insulation during the build, and a dedicated MEP routing robot handles electrical, plumbing and ducting runs. A software and sensor layer is designed to record the location of pipes and cables in real time. Additional robots are planned for assembly and exterior finishing. On the materials side the company has tested electrochemistry-based alternatives to Portland cement, basalt-fibre tension rods and materials derived from underused waste streams. It has filed a non-provisional patent.
Parametric geometry lets customers adapt floor plans, and Verustruct's software converts house designs directly into robotic toolpaths. A separate Build software platform, available as a demo, is used to plan, simulate and manage robotic construction projects. Target building types run from ADUs, single-family homes and townhomes to multifamily, mid-rise, urban infill, workforce and affordable housing, mixed-use, disaster relief and master-planned communities.
Before raising venture money the company won about $51,000 in awards and fellowships, including $15,000 from Startup Yale, $20,000 from Yale's Tsai CITY fellowship, $10,000 from the Yale School of Management, $6,000 from the Yale Innovation Summit, and the Sobotka Seed Prize. In September 2025 it closed an oversubscribed $2.4 million pre-seed round to build a full-size printer and run pilot housing projects. Callegari was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 2026 list in Manufacturing & Industry, and the company has presented at TEDxYale and been named by Poets&Quants as one of the most disruptive MBA startups.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Gantry-less robotic slip-form system combining automated formwork and robotics to build structural walls with embedded plumbing, wiring and insulation.
