United Robotics Group GmbH develops service robots for healthcare, laboratories, logistics and critical infrastructure, headquartered in Bochum, Germany, and backed by the RAG Foundation through its holding company RSBG SE. The group was assembled by Hahn Group through acquisitions including Rethink Robotics in 2018 and SoftBank Robotics Europe, renamed Aldebaran, in 2022; Aldebaran held the NAO and Pepper humanoid platforms.
In 2025, after the RAG Foundation withdrew Aldebaran funding, the group filed for self-administration insolvency. Aldebaran, with the NAO and Pepper lines, was sold to China's Maxvision Technology Corporation, while United Robotics Health and Food GmbH retained the remaining group patents and trademarks and now leads a restructured business focused on healthcare and laboratory robotics.
The current product range covers the uMe humanoid robots (Uno, Duo, Trio), the uLab laboratory-automation robots (Mobile, Uno, Duo), the uLog mobile robots (Deliver, Lift, Lift Base, Locker), uDrone inspection drones, the uServe serving robot, the uRun inspection robot, and the uClean cleaning robots (Compact, C Dry, L Dry). These serve life science, healthcare, care homes, intralogistics, education, inspection, hospitality, retail and cleaning settings; the group opened a training center in Gelsenkirchen, Germany in 2026.
