OFTEC maintains a test and application center in Dorsten where its proprietary robotic systems and accompanying processes can be simulated and tested under realistic conditions. The company is a member of SPRINT Robotics, the international industry consortium for inspection and maintenance robots, and has participated in collaborative R&D projects including FoulLas2, focused on automated fouling removal from ship hulls using laser radiation underwater, with partners including Laserline GmbH and Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V.
