Monumental Labs is a New York-based startup founded in 2022 that combines advanced robotics and AI with traditional stone-carving craft to dramatically reduce the cost of ornamental stone fabrication. At its Mount Vernon factory, seven-axis industrial robotic arms equipped with diamond-tip mill bits carve custom pieces in marble, limestone, sandstone, and granite for architectural facades and sculptures. The company has completed notable restoration work at Carnegie Hall, the Frick Museum, and Villard Houses in Manhattan.
Monumental Labs has raised $8M led by Seven Seven Six (Alexis Ohanian's fund) and employs approximately 23 people. A new 40,000 sq ft facility in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is expanding production capacity.
