Company Overview

Lifeward Ltd. is a medical technology company that develops and sells powered exoskeletons and other rehabilitation devices for people with lower-limb disabilities caused by spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis and orthopedic conditions. The company was incorporated in Israel on June 20, 2001 as Argo Medical Technologies Ltd., was renamed ReWalk Robotics Ltd. in June 2014, announced its rebrand to Lifeward on January 29, 2024, and completed the legal name change to Lifeward Ltd. on September 10, 2024. Its ordinary shares moved from the ReWalk ticker to LFWD on the Nasdaq on January 30, 2024.

The company's best-known robotic product is the ReWalk Personal Exoskeleton, a powered hip-and-knee exoskeleton that lets people with spinal cord injury stand, walk and turn, and has been used both at home and in clinical rehabilitation centers. Stair and curb navigation was added in the ReWalk 6.0 generation in 2023. The current model, ReWalk 7, received FDA clearance in March 2025 and went on sale in a U.S. national launch announced on April 15, 2025 for personal and clinical use. ReWalk 7 adds two user-selectable walking speeds for moving between indoor and outdoor settings, smoother activation of stair and curb modes, a crutch-mounted control unit, a longer-lasting battery, cloud connectivity, and a handheld unit with click-to-stop control for therapists. Users operate it through the MyReWalk mobile app paired with a wrist-worn smartwatch controller that selects modes, sets goals and tracks usage. On the reimbursement side, the company points to a CMS rule finalized in November 2023 that created a new regulatory definition of a brace effective from 2024, and in September 2025 it reported that a commercial Medicare Advantage plan had paid for a ReWalk 7 device.

The second robotic product line is the ReStore Exo-Suit, a powered, textile-based soft exosuit for gait training after stroke. Motors mounted on a waist belt drive cables to a calf cuff and an insole in the shoe, providing ankle assistance during push-off and during swing for ground clearance, with shoe-mounted sensors timing the support. A trained therapist uses a hand controller to adjust assistance levels, select modes and record standardized gait assessments. ReStore is FDA-cleared and CE-marked for use in rehabilitation institutions under therapist supervision, for people with hemiplegia or hemiparesis due to stroke who can walk at least 1.5 m with no more than minimal to moderate assistance; Lifeward describes it as the first exo-suit product cleared by the FDA for rehabilitating walking after stroke.

Beyond exoskeletons, Lifeward broadened its rehabilitation portfolio by acquiring AlterG, a Fremont, California maker of anti-gravity (body-weight-supported) treadmill systems used in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine; that deal closed in August 2023. The company also markets MyoCycle functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycling systems from MYOLYN. In 2025 Lifeward expanded its distribution partnership with SportsMed Ltd. to cover the UAE and the wider Gulf region. In 2026 it completed a 1-for-12 reverse share split to meet Nasdaq listing requirements, received shareholder approval for a transaction with Oramed Pharmaceuticals under which it acquired Oramed's subsidiary Oratech Pharmaceuticals, and appointed a Chief Medical Officer to support its neurorehabilitation portfolio and a new biomedical platform.

Lifeward runs operations in the United States, Israel and Germany. Its official website lists Lifeward Ltd. in Yokneam Ilit, Israel, Lifeward, Inc. in Hudson, Massachusetts, and Lifeward GmbH in Berlin. Long-time chief executive Larry Jasinski led the company through the rebrand. For a robotics directory, the relevant parts of the business are the ReWalk powered exoskeleton and the ReStore soft exosuit; the AlterG and MyoCycle lines are rehabilitation equipment rather than robots.
