EVENT OVERVIEW

RehabWeek 2027 will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 31 May to 4 June 2027. The week-long event groups several rehabilitation technology conferences under one roof, sharing keynotes, panel discussions and poster sessions while each member conference runs its own program. Its robotics core is ICORR, the International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics organized by the International Consortium for Rehabilitation Robotics and co-sponsored by IEEE RAS and IEEE EMBS in 2025. ETH Zurich's Competence Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) lists the 2027 edition among its events; the exact venue has not been published.

RehabWeek started in Zurich in 2011 and has since been held in Valencia, London, Toronto, Rotterdam, Singapore and Chicago (May 2025). According to its organizers, the 2019 Toronto edition drew more than 1,400 participants across six societies, while the 2023 Singapore edition drew over 1,000 across nine. Member societies in 2025 included RESNA, IFESS, ISVR, IISART, ACRM, MiNT and MotusAcademy alongside ICORR; the 2027 line-up has not been confirmed. Topics range from rehabilitation and assistive robots and exoskeletons to functional electrical stimulation, neurotechnology and virtual rehabilitation. Workshop proposals are due 1 October 2026, abstracts and papers by 17 November 2026, and registration opens 1 December 2026.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Includes ICORR, the International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (IEEE RAS/EMBS co-sponsored in 2025)

  • Shared keynotes, panels and poster sessions across member conferences

  • Member societies in 2025 included RESNA, IFESS, ISVR, IISART, ACRM, MiNT and MotusAcademy

  • Workshops on rehabilitation robotics, exoskeletons, neurotechnology and virtual rehabilitation

  • Mix of engineers, clinicians, researchers and industry

RECOMMENDED ATTENDEES

Researchers and graduate students in rehabilitation robotics, exoskeletons, prosthetics and neuro-rehabilitation; physical and occupational therapists and rehabilitation physicians evaluating robotic therapy; R&D and clinical-affairs teams at exoskeleton and rehab-device companies; start-up founders seeking clinical partners; and hospital and insurer innovation staff. Chinese rehab-robot makers exploring European clinical validation or partnerships will find the ICORR program and industry contacts relevant.
