Company Overview

Eve Air Mobility is the urban air mobility company created by Embraer to develop an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft together with the support services and air traffic management software needed to operate it. The listed entity, Eve Holding, Inc., trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker EVEX and gives its principal address as 1400 General Aviation Drive, Melbourne, Florida. In December 2021 Embraer announced that the unit would become a stand-alone company through a business combination with Zanite Acquisition Corp, with Embraer retaining about 82 percent ownership; press coverage in September 2025 still described Embraer as holding nearly 82 percent. Eve draws on Embraer's engineering organisation and its global support network.

The aircraft is a fully electric lift-plus-cruise design with eight dedicated rotors for vertical flight and a fixed wing for cruise, so that no component changes position in flight. Eve states a design range of 100 km (60 miles), which it says covers 99 percent of urban air mobility missions. At entry into service it will carry four passengers and a pilot; the company says the cabin will take up to six passengers once uncrewed flight is certified, and the design is intended to be ready for autonomous operation. Eve has reported its first transition flight, moving the program towards wing-borne flight; press reports in 2025 cited a certification target of 2027.

Beyond the aircraft, Eve sells a services portfolio covering materials, maintenance, training, a 24/7 global support network powered by Embraer, entry-into-service support teams and operations solutions for passenger services, flight operations and network integration. Its software line, Vector, is an urban air traffic management (UATM) system: a set of systems, services and technologies meant to integrate eVTOL and other low-altitude traffic with existing airspace users.

At the time of the 2021 listing announcement Eve reported 1,735 non-binding letters of intent from 17 launch customers. Later reported agreements include a commitment for 50 aircraft to Aerosolutions in Costa Rica via Globalvia, a pledge from Revo for up to 50 aircraft and a letter of intent from Future Flight Global for 54 aircraft, all of which remain non-binding until converted into firm orders. For a robotics and autonomy directory the relevant elements are the eVTOL airframe designed for eventual uncrewed operation and the Vector traffic-management software for dense low-altitude airspace.
