EOS GmbH Electro Optical Systems is a German manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems, headquartered in Krailling near Munich. Hans J. Langer founded the company in 1989, and it remains independently, family owned, with more than 1,200 employees worldwide.
EOS builds its systems around powder-bed fusion technology, supplying printers, metal and polymer powders and control software as one package. Its metal-printing range spans the EOS M 290, M 290-2, M 300-4, M 400 and M 400-4, plus the M4 ONYX, built around six 400-watt lasers with a redesigned filtration system; larger or customized metal machines are handled through its AMCM subsidiary. The polymer range includes the FORMIGA P 110 Velocis, EOS P3 NEXT, INTEGRA P 450, EOS P 500 and EOS P 770. Material portfolios cover aluminum, cobalt chrome, copper, nickel alloys, steel, stainless steel and titanium for metal parts, and biocompatible, flame-retardant, flexible and high-performance polymers for plastic parts, supported by processes such as Fine Detail Resolution for finer feature definition and Smart Fusion for real-time heat management that reduces support structures.
The company supplies automotive, aviation, drone, defense, energy, semiconductor and space manufacturers, medical customers building implants and dental devices, and consumer-goods makers producing eyewear, footwear and sports equipment.
