CyBe Construction B.V.

CyBe Construction B.V. is a Dutch building-automation company that supplies 3D concrete printing (3DCP) hardware, software, materials and training. Founder and CEO Berry Hendriks came up with the idea after watching a video in 2012 and founded CyBe in November 2013 in Oss, the Netherlands. The company calls itself "the Building Innovation Company since 2013, on an in 1922 established foundation", citing more than 35 years of construction experience in its background and over ten years in 3D printing. It runs a cooperation office at Wethouder van Eschstraat 2 and a manufacturing site at Lichtstraat 23, both in Oss.

CyBe's printer range is based on industrial robot arms and gantries. The CyBe RC (Robot Crawler) is a mobile, all-terrain printer with hydraulic stabilising feet. It prints in a donut-shaped area around the machine with a standard range of 5 m x 3.2 m (circumference x height), extendable to 5 m x 4.5 m, at speeds up to 500 mm/s. The CyBe RT (Robot Track) and CyBe R (Robot) are track-mounted and stationary robot versions. The CyBe GR (Gantry Robot) is a stationary gantry of six columns and three beams weighing nearly 13 tonnes, with a standard print volume of 7 x 10 x 4 m (L x W x H). It moves at 500 mm/s horizontally and 40 mm/s vertically and is designed for factory production of modular apartments, including PPVC units joined on site. Printers are supplied as a package of hardware, software, materials, service, designs and a 10-day training course.

The software stack consists of CyBe Chysel, slicing software that generates toolpaths from 3D models, sets layer width, layer height and speed, and tracks printed objects to avoid collisions, and CyBe Artysan, which runs the printer from Chysel code across pre-print, print and post-print phases and records print statistics. CyBe also develops parametric design tools that it says can generate more than 400,000 shape variations. Its material, CyBe Mortar, was developed with KORODUR and evolved into the 3D YNK material family, with set times tuned to the print area for continuous wet-on-wet printing.

CyBe and its customers have printed housing, buildings and marine structures in more than a dozen countries. Projects listed by the company include houses in Florida and Ohio (SCI Ohio), Las Casitas, the Paremoremo and Huia houses, the UJ House, Robust Villa and MEET Villa, the R&Drone Laboratory, De Vergaderfabriek, Sapporo Park restrooms, La Sphere, toilet pods, a skatepark and nature-conservation work such as 3D-printed barnacles, living seawalls and artificial reefs. The company lists active printing regions across 16 US states plus Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Romania, the UK and the UAE. It also runs the CyBe Academy for 3DCP training and the CyBeDC digital collective.
