CREI (Conception Realisation Equipements Industriels) is a French SASU that designs and builds custom industrial equipment, based in Soliers near Caen in Normandy. The company was founded in 1998 by Pascal Esnouf in a site bungalow in Bourguebus and was later taken over by Nicolas Duclos, who now heads it. Over time it bought a 200 m2 building for its mechanical design office and built a 400 m2 assembly workshop; in 2008 it added a 400 m2 machining workshop and extended assembly to 800 m2, in 2013 it acquired CNC milling and turning machines, and in 2015 it won its first contract worth more than 1 million euros. 3D printing and virtual reality were added to the design office in 2018, followed by an in-house electrical design office. In 2023-2024 the company moved into new premises in Soliers about 40% larger, with 1,800 m2 of covered space. It employs 27 people.
CREI delivers turnkey automation and robotisation projects: complete production lines, semi-automated and automated workstations, robotic cells (ilots robotises) and revamping of existing equipment. Its listed skills cover assembly, quality control, marking and traceability, loading and unloading, robotic handling, picking and vision, fully automated roll-container storage and lean design. It also offers a range of standard machines. Because design, machining, assembly and electrical engineering are done in-house, the company handles projects from concept to commissioning.
Sectors served include automotive, heavy trucks, aeronautics, nuclear, construction, electronics and electrical equipment, foundry and machining, plastics processing, and cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. CREI states that it follows a CSR approach with an eco-design programme.
