"No Transform, No Robots."
Tokyo firm founded 2014 building humanoid-to-vehicle transforming robots (J-deite RIDE, Fiberion), plus custom battery packs and contract robot development.
BRAVE ROBOTICS Inc. is a Tokyo developer of transforming robots, machines that switch between a humanoid form and a wheeled vehicle form. The company was incorporated on 9 June 2014 by its president and representative director Kenji Ishida, has paid-in capital of JPY 8.56 million, and is based in the AirLabo office at TY Plaza 4F, 24-25 Sanbancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Its tagline is "No Transform, No Robots."
The work predates incorporation. From 2002 Ishida built a series of 1/12-scale transforming prototypes, starting with Unit 1 at the first ROBO-ONE biped competition, and iterated through Unit 7.2, shown at Maker Faire Tokyo in 2013, adding wheeled driving, steering and a driver's seat space along the way. The company brought machining in-house over this period, introducing CNC milling, PCB fabrication and 3D printing.
Its best-known product family is J-deite. J-deite Quarter is an approximately 1.3 m tall robot that walks on two legs in humanoid form and drives on wheels in vehicle form, with all motion, including the transformation, controlled by the V-Sido robot control software from Asratec Corp. J-deite RIDE is its larger, two-seat rideable counterpart, about 4 m long and 3.5 m tall in robot form, which can be driven from the cockpit or operated wirelessly. It was first displayed publicly at Twin Ring Motegi in May 2018 and made its first overseas appearance at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando in November 2018; the RIDE was developed by J-deite RIDE LLP, in which BRAVE ROBOTICS participates. For the RIDE the company developed a kW-class actuator around a Yaskawa servo motor targeting 3,000 Nm of torque at 60 rpm.
Its current project, Fiberion (marketed as Yuusha Fiberion), is a personal-use transformable humanoid that converts into a small four-wheel road-going electric vehicle. The concept was selected in November 2022 for the disruptive-challenge category of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Inno-vation programme, was exhibited at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, and from 14 September 2026 is on static display at Tokyo Innovation Base in Yurakucho, where visitors can remotely operate the upper body of a prototype; a 1/6-scale model shows the intended final design.
Alongside the robots, BRAVE ROBOTICS runs two commercial lines that reuse its robot engineering. Since October 2023 it builds custom lithium battery packs for industrial equipment, electric mobility, energy storage and emergency power, from 11.1 V to 620 V and 30 A to 500 A, using 18650 or 21700 cells with Orion or DALY battery management systems and UART, CAN or RS485 telemetry, with a typical lead time of about 1.5 months. It also takes contract development of robots, AGVs, drones, space equipment, amusement machinery and toy prototypes, from a single unit upward, with a stated specialism in machines over 1 m long; listed past work includes custom grippers for industrial robot arms and large BMS-equipped battery packs for AGVs and mobile robots. Ishida has spoken at the Harmonic Drive International Symposium (2019) and SAIC2019 in Seoul. Headcount, revenue and outside funding are not published.
