AIROD Robotics is a French industrial robot systems integrator that studies, designs and builds robotic cells for manufacturers, covering feasibility tests, turnkey systems, cycle-time optimisation and the upgrading of existing lines. The company was founded in 2018 by Xavier Barthou, who had around 20 years of robotics experience at the time.
Its offer combines four skill areas: industrial robotics; PLC, HMI and supervision integration; custom industrial software and client-server communication; and industrial vision for part localisation, quality control and process optimisation. Projects are delivered from study and design through integration and on-site commissioning. Application areas are palletizing, 2D and 3D bin picking, machine loading and unloading, material handling, part conformity inspection and retrofitting of existing systems. Sectors served include automotive, aerospace, space, food processing, paper and cosmetics.
A documented reference is a cell built for SERP, a cosmetics manufacturer in Castelsarrasin, delivered in autumn 2020. Two ABB IRB 1200 robots mark lot numbers and dates on containers from 50 ml to 500 ml in glass or plastic, position them under a dosing unit, fit reducers and screw on caps before placing the products on a conveyor; the cell is reprogrammed several times a year for new packaging. As of 2021, AIROD Robotics equipped several dozen manufacturers across France.
