Aeolus Robotics, Inc.
"Uplifting human well-being."
US-founded service robot company offering the dual-arm humanoid 'aeo' for UV disinfection, care, delivery, and security; robots deployed in Japan since 2019.
Aeolus Robotics, Inc. is a service robotics company founded in 2016 by Alexander Huang, with operational headquarters associated with addresses in San Jose, California and Taipei, Taiwan. The company develops and deploys the aeo robot, a dual-arm wheeled humanoid service robot designed to autonomously perform multiple functions within a single platform. The aeo robot's dual arms each have seven degrees of freedom (7-DOF), enabling it to perform disinfection, care monitoring, package delivery, and security patrol simultaneously or sequentially.
Each arm has a single-arm lift capacity of approximately 8 lb (3.6 kg). The platform is notable for its ability to autonomously operate elevators, described by a customer as the only robot in the world capable of doing so at time of deployment, which enables building-wide operations across floors without human assistance. Aeolus Robotics commercialises the aeo under four solution bundles: aeo disinfect (UV-C germicidal disinfection), aeo care (resident monitoring and staff support in senior care facilities), aeo delivery (autonomous internal delivery of medicines, linens, and supplies), and aeo security (24/7 patrol and real-time monitoring).
The company operates a RaaS (Robot-as-a-Service) model offering flexible leasing plans with continuous support. Aeolus Robotics began deploying robots in Japan in 2019, where key clients include HIMEDIC, Inc. (senior care), Medical Care Service, Inc., and GLOBESHIP Corporation (property management), represented through distribution partner Marubun Corporation. The company has raised a total of approximately US$30 million in funding over two disclosed rounds and was categorised as Series B as of available records.
Aeolus Robotics debuted the aeo dual-arm humanoid at CES 2023, receiving significant media coverage from CNET, Daily Mail, and Robotics 24/7. The company's stated mission is to reimagine organisations and enhance the quality of life globally.
