GAM Enterprises Acquires Schaeffler's PSC Gear Reducers for Enhanced Motion Control
GAM Enterprises has announced the acquisition of certain assets from Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives, including intellectual property and technology for the PSC gear reducer. This product is crucial for precision motion control applications and has been integral to GAM's GPL product line. The acquisition is significant as it strengthens GAM's position in the precision motion control market, allowing the company to vertically integrate its supply chain and enhance its manufacturing capabilities. GAM-Melior GmbH, a new entity formed to support the PSC product, will be based in Hameln, Germany, and aims to serve global automation and robotics customers. Looking ahead, GAM plans to support existing customers of the PSC product line while continuing to develop this technology platform. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
