Hefei defense-electronics subsidiary of Jiangsu Galaxy Electronics making special motors, controllers, and power systems for military vehicles.
Hefei Tongzhi Electromechanical Control Technology Co., Ltd., commonly referred to as Tongzhi Electromechanical, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen-listed Jiangsu Galaxy Electronics Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Stock Exchange: 002519). The subsidiary was formally established on October 26, 2009, building on an operating history that traces back to a predecessor business founded in October 2000, and it is based in the Hefei High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Anhui province, at No. 66 Yonghe Road, on a site of roughly 30 acres. The company's legal representative is Zhang Hong, and it has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise and as a specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative little-giant enterprise under China's small-and-medium-enterprise development program.
Tongzhi's business centers on special-purpose electromechanical products rather than general industrial robotics. Its four core product lines are high-frequency switch power supplies, integrated electromechanical management systems, special motors and controllers, and automotive air-conditioning scroll compressors. A substantial share of its output supports China's defense sector: public disclosures from its parent company describe Tongzhi as engaged in the research, development, production, sales, and service of special intelligent electromechanical products, including integrated electronic information systems, integrated environmental control systems, and technical-support equipment for military applications.
In July 2023, Galaxy Electronics disclosed that Tongzhi had signed an investment agreement with the Hanshan Economic Development Zone in Anhui to establish a new sub-subsidiary with planned registered capital of RMB 50 to 100 million and total investment of roughly RMB 300 million, for a facility intended to produce 360 military equipment support vehicles per year. This expansion illustrates Tongzhi's role within the Galaxy Electronics group as the operating unit responsible for special motors, controllers, power electronics, and vehicle-based environmental and electronic support systems used in defense-related equipment, positioning it as a component and subsystem supplier to China's military-equipment supply chain rather than a robot manufacturer in the conventional commercial sense.
