Zhengzhou bearing and superhard-materials group (SZSE: 002046); its ZYS bearing institute makes humanoid and industrial robot bearings.
Sinomach Precision Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Sinomach-PI) is a Zhengzhou-based maker of precision bearings, superhard materials, abrasives and precision tools, listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange main board since May 2005 under the code 002046. The company was established in 2001 and belongs to China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), the state-owned machinery group. Its predecessor listed company traded as Zhouyan Technology (Luoyang Zhouyan Technology), built around the Luoyang Bearing Research Institute. Today the group reports five businesses: bearings; superhard material products; general abrasives and grinding tools; precision tools; and trade and services. It serves aerospace, automotive and rail, energy, shipbuilding and defence, machine tools, petrochemicals, electronics, metallurgy and construction customers and says it sells into more than 80 countries and regions.
The robot-related business sits in the bearing segment, run by its core subsidiary Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd. (ZYS), founded in 1958. ZYS develops and manufactures bearings, bearing manufacturing equipment and motorised spindles, and also provides bearing inspection and testing, industry standard drafting and training. It operates a national enterprise technology centre and three industrial bases, and says it can mass-produce bearings and assemblies from 0.6 mm to 6.8 m outer diameter. Its history is closely tied to the Chinese space programme: it supplied bearings for the Dongfanghong-1 satellite in 1969, for Shenzhou crewed spacecraft from Shenzhou-5 onwards, for the Chang'e lunar probes and the Long March 5 turbopump, for the China Space Station life-support and solar-tracking mechanisms and for the Tianwen-1 Mars mission. Showcased industrial products include main bearings for tunnel boring machines and wind turbine main shafts, ceramic balls and solid-lubricated bearings, while its precision bearing catalogue lists cylindrical and tapered roller bearings, angular contact and ultra-high-speed angular contact ball bearings, and ball-screw support bearings and units for machine tools.
ZYS records that it developed a series of special bearings for robots in 2015. At the robot exhibition of the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai in October 2026 it showed humanoid robot bearings, industrial robot bearings, thin-section solid-oil-lubricated bearings, thin-wall cages for flexible bearings and spacer blocks alongside machine-tool bearings, and stated that it is working with robot manufacturers and reducer makers on application matching and customised designs. These parts address the bearings used inside robot joints and the flexible bearings of strain-wave (harmonic) gearboxes, a component class that Chinese industrial policy lists as encouraged products for industrial robot RV and harmonic reducers.
The superhard materials and abrasives side of the group is led by the Zhengzhou Abrasives and Grinding Research Institute (ZZSM), also founded in 1958, and includes diamond and cubic boron nitride products, composite superhard materials and grinding tools. The group also owns China Machinery International Cooperation Co., Ltd., founded in 1981, which handles trade, exhibitions and supply-chain services, and it manages White Dove Abrasives and the Chengdu Tool Research Institute on behalf of Sinomach. Robot bearings are a small, recently promoted part of a business whose revenue is dominated by bearings for aerospace and heavy equipment, superhard materials and trade services.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Precision bearings for humanoid robot joints from ZYS (Luoyang Bearing Research Institute), shown at the CIIF 2026 robot exhibition for robot OEMs and reducer makers.
Special bearing series for industrial robot joints and reducers, first developed by ZYS in 2015 and exhibited at CIIF 2026.
Thin-wall cages for flexible bearings, shown by ZYS with spacer blocks at the CIIF 2026 robot show for robot OEMs and reducer manufacturers.
Thin-section bearings with solid-oil lubrication, exhibited by ZYS among its robot components at the CIIF 2026 robot show.
