Company Overview

Shield Robotics is a French robotics and drone design office (bureau d'etudes) founded in February 2020 and based at the Domolandes technopole in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, Landes. It is a subsidiary of Evotech, a drone, robotics and risk-management group founded in 2014 and run by Anthony Gavend, who also founded Shield Robotics, and his brother David Gavend. In 2024 the company had a team of 17 working from 600 m2 of premises, with defense as the main source of revenue.

The studio offers mechanical design, custom electronics, prototyping, flight tuning, firmware and software development, and SORA regulatory files for drone operations, and works on both civil and military projects; Safran is listed among its references. Its own developments include Woodrone, a tree-pruning drone that suspends a circular saw about 20 m below the aircraft, developed with Seraphin Systeme, and E-Doggy, a quadruped robot first built to assist bomb-disposal and law-enforcement teams and later adapted to agriculture. E-Doggy supported French bomb disposal teams during the Paris 2024 Olympics under a contract with the French Interior Ministry, and an agricultural version that gathers poultry into their shelters at night was field-tested with the Maisadour cooperative in 2024, with commercial sales planned from 2026. Other projects include surveillance drones and heavy-lift drones for loads up to 500 kg, the Arise Fly single-seat electric flying taxi, and the E-Wings electric-turbine wingsuit. The company has received the Prix de l'Innovation des Landes and the Prix de l'Economie Neo-Aquitains.
