Kinisi Robotics is a US-based robotics company founded in 2023 by Bren Pierce, a robotics veteran who previously shipped over 25,000 robots. Headquartered in Redwood City, California, Kinisi builds wheeled humanoid robots designed for practical, high-throughput logistics work. The flagship product is the KR1, a 162 cm tall, 100 kg wheeled humanoid robot with 21 degrees of freedom.
The KR1 achieves speeds up to 14.4 km/h on its wheeled base, carries payloads up to 10 kg dynamically (40 kg static), and features an 8-hour runtime. It integrates LLM-based intelligence for natural language task execution and has been deployed in glass sorting and warehouse pick-and-place operations. Kinisi raised $2 million in seed funding and won the Automate Start-up Challenge in May 2025.
In 2025 the company announced a merger with Bear Robotics, bringing the KR1 platform and engineering team into Bear's deployed fleet to further automate physical work at scale.
