Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd. (KSSL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited and the flagship company driving the defence and aerospace business of India's Kalyani Group. Drawing on the Group's five decades of design, engineering, metallurgy and manufacturing expertise, KSSL has emerged as one of India's leading private defence players. Its product portfolio spans artillery systems, protected and armoured vehicles and their MRO upgrades, ammunition, small arms, air defence solutions, marine systems and defence electronics. A flagship product is the MArG 155, a 155mm family of mounted gun systems offered in 39 and 45 calibre versions integrated onto a Kalyani 4x4 wheeled chassis for all-terrain mobility. In the unmanned and autonomous domain, KSSL has built competencies in underwater and unmanned defence technologies, including autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) deployed with the Indian Navy, alongside surface and naval autonomous systems.

The company operates manufacturing and electronics facilities and runs in-house innovation centres, the Kalyani Centre for Technology & Innovation (KCTI) and the Kalyani Centre for Manufacturing Innovation (KCMI), to develop indigenous defence technology aligned with India's Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives. KSSL has secured significant export orders, including a record export of 100 artillery guns and a USD 155 million contract for 155mm guns, and has formed strategic partnerships and joint ventures with global defence firms such as AM General.
