Janome Industrial Equipment Europe GmbH is the European sales and support subsidiary of Janome Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd., headquartered in Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan. The European entity is located at Philipp-Reis-Strasse 26B, 64404 Bickenbach, Germany.
Janome Industrial Equipment was established in 1984 as an outgrowth of Janome Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., when in-house engineers sought to manufacture precision sewing machine components. Their first product was the JP-20 servo press, a quiet, electric DC servo motor-driven press suited for manufacturing sewing machine motors and precision parts. In 1986 the JP1 series improved on this design, combining a DC servo motor with microcomputer control for programmable precision processing parameters. By 1993, Janome adapted the XYZ precision movement technology from its embroidery sewing machines to develop and commercialize its first desktop robot, the JR500.
Today the product portfolio covers three main categories: Servo Presses (JP series, including the JP5 Standard and Compact controller variants introduced recently), Desktop Robots (JR series — including the newly launched JR4000 series in October 2024 with stand-alone JP5 type models), and Cartesian Robots (larger-format gantry-style robots for industrial automation). Additionally, the company offers automatic screw presenters and screw feeders. Application areas include screw tightening, PCB routing and panelization, dispensing, soldering, and press-fit operations. Products support flexible partial and full automation in manufacturing environments.
The Japan headquarters is located at 1463 Hazama-machi, Hachioji-shi, Tokyo, Japan 193-0941. Global offices include the USA (Elk Grove Village, Illinois), Mexico (Querétaro), China (Shanghai, Shenzhen), Taiwan (Hsinchu County), and India (Gurugram). The company offers after-sales support globally and operates a repair service center in Thailand.
