Embraer S.A. is a Brazilian aerospace manufacturer founded in 1969 and headquartered in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo state, with operations extending to the United States, Portugal, France, Singapore and China. The company designs and builds aircraft across four segments: Commercial Aviation, Executive Aviation, Defense and Security, and Agricultural Aviation, alongside aftermarket services and support.
Embraer's commercial line centers on its E-Jet family of regional airliners, its executive-jet range includes the Phenom and Praetor business jets, and its defense products include the C-390 Millennium military transport and the Super Tucano light attack and trainer aircraft. The group's link to robotics and autonomous systems runs through Eve Air Mobility, an urban air mobility company spun out of Embraer's EmbraerX unit in 2020 that is developing a four-rotor lift-plus-cruise electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, piloted at launch and designed with a path toward autonomous operation. Embraer and Eve have signed agreements with BAE Systems to explore defense and security eVTOL variants.
Embraer operates an aircraft maintenance and overhaul facility in Alverca do Ribatejo, Portugal through its OGMA subsidiary, and has separately partnered with Nidec on electric motor development and with the Brazilian Navy on the Tamandare-class frigate program.
