AutoFlight (Shanghai Autoflight Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese aviation-technology company that designs and manufactures electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, founded by Tian Yu, who serves as chief executive with about two decades of aviation-industry experience across China, the United States, and Europe. The company is headquartered in Shanghai and develops both passenger air-taxi and autonomous cargo aircraft.
Its five-seat Prosperity platform is built for passenger air-taxi service and has received a type certificate from China's Civil Aviation Administration, while the cargo variant, the CarryAll (V2000CG), is a two-tonne-class autonomous eVTOL that has obtained a Chinese production certificate. AutoFlight has demonstrated autonomous cargo flights at Shanghai Pudong airport, deliveries over mountainous terrain, and an intercity route between Shenzhen and Zhuhai, and is working with European regulator EASA and the United Arab Emirates' civil aviation authority on further certification.
AutoFlight has raised funding from German investment group Team Global and battery maker CATL, describing its CATL arrangement as worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and Lukasz Gadowski serves as co-chairman following an earlier Series A investment. The company reports operations extending into Japan alongside its China-based development and manufacturing base.
