"Affordable automation"
Oxfordshire robot integrator and UK distributor of Unitree and AgileX, building MoBiT bimanual teleop platforms, HEAD360 navigation heads and RTU UGVs.
Autodiscovery is a young robotics company based at The Old Mill in Wantage, Oxfordshire, that combines three roles. It is an official UK distributor of AgileX Robotics and Unitree robots (and of Waveshare products), a system integrator that builds bespoke robotic systems and proof-of-concept deployments on those platforms, and a developer of its own robots, sensor heads and software. The company says it delivered the largest number of field robots in the UK in 2025, and positions itself on affordability and on giving customers full ownership and source-code control of their robots, which it argues suits sensitive security or nuclear projects.
Its best-known in-house products for humanoid and embodied-AI work are the MoBiT family of bimanual mobile manipulators. MoBiT (Modular Bimanual Teleoperation Platform) is inspired by the Stanford Mobile ALOHA project. Its controller station is physically separate from the robot, so an operator can teleoperate from a distance, and it is offered with AgileX Piper X, Piper L, Piper H or the new AgileX Nero arms, a compute upgrade with an NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada GPU built in the EU, Autodiscovery's own Navis navigation or a ROS 2 stack, and a software manual written by Autodiscovery. MoBiT Air is a lighter version on the omnidirectional AgileX Ranger Air base with Nero arms. It can be driven from Piper leader arms or a Meta Quest 3 VR headset and is aimed at data collection and offline training of physical-intelligence policies.
For autonomy, Autodiscovery builds the HEAD360 Version 3 payload, which combines an omnidirectional 3D LiDAR, three wide-field 4D depth cameras with on-board NPUs, LED flood lights, a 128 GB AI compute node or a 32 GB x86 node, a Wi-Fi 7 router and optional 5G, and open-source ROS 2 Jazzy and Nav2 software using Zenoh middleware. It is designed to fit Unitree A2 and B2 quadrupeds and AgileX wheeled and tracked bases. HEAD-lite is the outdoor variant with high-precision GNSS for agriculture and mining. The company also lists HAND16, a 16-degree-of-freedom metal humanoid hand for industrial use, with details still to be published.
Its own vehicles include the UK-made Robotic Traction Unit (RTU), a tracked off-road UGV with adjustable height and width that carries 300 kg or pulls over 1,000 kg, runs autonomously with HEAD-lite and starts at GBP 10,000 plus VAT. Secunit is a security patrol robot on the AgileX Ranger Mini 3.0 chassis with HEAD360. MARVIN is a six-wheel Mars analogue rover developed with the Autonomous Systems Group at RAL Space (STFC) for long-range navigation and sample-fetch trials.
As a distributor it sells Unitree H1, H2, G1 and R1 humanoids, the Go2, B2 and A2 quadrupeds, and AgileX Scout, Ranger, Bunker and Tracer platforms to UK research, agriculture, security, mining, inspection, logistics, lab-automation and space customers, backed by local support, cybersecurity audits of the products it sells, and contributions to the UK ROS community including ROSCon UK.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Mobile ALOHA-inspired bimanual mobile manipulator with a separate remote controller station, Piper or Nero arms, RTX 4000 Ada compute and Navis or ROS 2 navigation.
Lightweight omnidirectional bimanual teleoperation and data-collection platform on AgileX Ranger Air with Nero arms, driven by Piper leader arms or Meta Quest 3 VR.
Bolt-on 3D LiDAR + triple 4D depth camera autonomy head with edge AI, Wi-Fi 7 and ROS 2 Jazzy/Nav2 software for Unitree quadrupeds and AgileX mobile robots.
UK-made tracked off-road UGV with adjustable height and width, solar-charging option and full autonomy via HEAD-lite, for farms, beaches and rough terrain.
Six-wheel-drive, six-wheel-steer Mars analogue rover with ExoMars-like suspension, developed with RAL Space ASG (STFC) for long-range navigation and sample-fetch trials.
