Assembléon B.V., based in Veldhoven, Netherlands, manufactures Surface Mount Technology (SMT) pick-and-place equipment for electronics assembly. Originally spun out of Royal Philips Electronics with over three decades of experience, Assembléon provides assembly equipment, processes, and services targeting the automotive, industrial, and advanced packaging markets. Its machines combine accurate flip-chip mounting with high-speed passive component placement.
Kulicke & Soffa Industries acquired Assembléon in January 2015 for $98 million, integrating it into their electronics assembly division. K&S retained the Veldhoven-based product development team and continues manufacturing SMT and Advanced Packaging Mass Reflow (APMR) products from the Netherlands facility.
