ARX Robotics GmbH is a Munich-based defense robotics company founded in 2021 by Marc Wietfeld and Stefan Roebel, originating from the GEREON research project at the German Armed Forces University. The company designs and manufactures modular, software-defined unmanned ground vehicles for defense and commercial applications. Its primary platform, the GEREON series, is a tracked, scalable UGV configurable for reconnaissance, surveillance, logistics, casualty evacuation, and combat roles.
The MITHRA OS is an AI-powered autonomy software layer enabling modernization of legacy vehicle fleets. The HECTOR is a medium-class wheeled UGV unveiled in December 2025 for land maneuver operations. ARX Robotics has achieved the largest deployment of Western-designed UGVs in Ukraine and has customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
In July 2025, the company inaugurated Europe's largest production facility for autonomous military robotic systems in the Munich metropolitan region. ARX raised 42 million euros in a 2025 funding round.
