ENvue Medical Launches ENvue Drive for Robotic Feeding Tube Placement

ENvue Medical Inc. has introduced ENvue Drive, a robotic-assisted tool designed for the automatic placement of feeding tubes. Built on the company's electromagnetic navigation platform, this innovative system integrates artificial intelligence and real-time navigation to enhance clinical workflow. Each year, over a million feeding tubes are inserted in the U.S., often relying on the clinician's experience, which can lead to a 3% to 5% misplacement rate. The significance of ENvue Drive lies in its potential to improve patient safety and procedural efficiency. Misplaced feeding tubes can lead to severe complications, including lung collapse. Dr. Doron Besser, CEO of ENvue Medical, emphasized that the system aims to simplify the procedure for clinicians while reducing costs for hospitals. The ENvue Drive utilizes a sensor at the end of the feeding tube, providing real-time visibility during placement and integrating AI navigation software to ensure accuracy. Looking ahead, ENvue Medical's system offers five degrees of freedom for enhanced flexibility during procedures. The integration of a high-refresh-rate sensor, which operates at approximately 40 times per second, allows for immediate feedback, minimizing delays. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
