Solinftec Expands Solix Fleet Following 85% Average Reduction in Chemical Use

Solinftec has expanded its Solix fleet, with over 100 robots operating across the US and Puerto Rico in 2026. These robots have covered more than 55,000 acres, achieving an average chemical reduction of 85%. The company is also scaling up its autonomous refilling capabilities and preparing to introduce three additional Solix models by 2027.

The significance of this expansion lies in the substantial reduction of chemical usage, which ranges from 83% to 89% across the fleet. The Solix robots utilize cameras and the ALICE AI platform to monitor crops and execute targeted applications, contributing to more sustainable agricultural practices. This development marks Solinftec's largest commercial season in the US to date.

Looking ahead, Solinftec plans to introduce a diesel-powered Solix model and deploy approximately 200 robots along with 80 autonomous Refill Stations in 2027. The current Solix robot is priced at around $55,000, with a projected return on investment of 2.5 years based solely on input savings.

Editor's Note

The agricultural robotics sector is witnessing significant advancements in sustainability and efficiency, as demonstrated by Solinftec's latest developments. The integration of AI and autonomous systems in farming not only enhances productivity but also reduces environmental impact. Stakeholders should monitor the adoption of these technologies as they reshape agricultural practices and supply chains.
