"A Robot for All"
Ansan, South Korea humanoid robotics startup spun off Hanyang University ERICA in 2018; builds the bipedal ALICE robot series.
AeiROBOT is a South Korean robotics company founded in April 2018 as a spin-off from a robotics laboratory at Hanyang University's ERICA campus in Ansan, where it remains headquartered. It was co-founded by chief executive YounSeal Eum and chief technology officer Jae-Kwon Han, a robotics professor who trained under Dennis Hong at Virginia Tech.
AeiROBOT's product line centers on the ALICE series of humanoid robots, built around proprietary linear actuators used in place of rotary motors at the joints, paired with AI walking-control software built on Nvidia's Isaac GR00T platform. ALICE 4 is a bipedal humanoid standing about 160 cm tall and weighing around 45 kg, built for rough-terrain navigation and force-controlled tasks in shipbuilding yards and construction sites. ALICE M1 is a wheeled mobile manipulator pairing a humanoid upper body with a wheeled base for logistics tasks needing dual-arm handling. The company also markets the companion robots EDIE and AMY.
AeiROBOT closed a Series A round of roughly 10 billion won (about USD 7 million) in July 2025 and joined Nvidia's Inception program. In January 2026 it presented ALICE at the Humanoid M.AX Alliance pavilion at CES 2026, and it belongs to South Korea's K-Humanoid Alliance, a group developing humanoid robot technology. AeiROBOT targets field-validating ALICE for factory, shipbuilding, and construction use by 2028.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
