Virya designs autonomous mobile robots, autonomous pallet trucks, autonomous people-mover platforms, and drive-by-wire research platforms for indoor and outdoor environments such as warehouses, factories, airports, and campuses. Its flagship model, the AMR 50, is a heavy-duty towing robot measuring 1,680 by 1,000 by 1,900 mm, with a 1,250 mm turning radius and 120 mm of ground clearance, that tows payloads of up to 5,000 kg at speeds up to 3 meters per second on gradients up to 8 percent. It runs on a 48V lithium-ion battery pack and carries a sensor suite that includes dual LIDAR units (one 3D, one 2D), a six-axis inertial measurement unit, and a depth camera for 360-degree perception, backed by a dual-channel emergency-stop braking system. A hybrid drive mode lets an operator switch the AMR 50 between autonomous and manual control on the same unit.
Virya markets its robots for material handling in factories and warehouses as well as for moving people across campuses and airport terminals, positioning the AMR 50 and related platforms toward the heavy-duty end of the autonomous mobile robot market.
