Qoobo is a cushion-shaped therapeutic robot equipped with a soft tail that moves in response to touch—waving gently when stroked, swinging playfully when rubbed, and occasionally wagging on its own. It targets users seeking animal-like companionship without pet ownership, and has been marketed as a stress-relief and mood-support device, particularly for senior care and individuals with pet restrictions. A smaller variant, Petit Qoobo, was subsequently released.
Other products include AMAGAMI HAM HAM, a finger-nibbling robot mimicking the behavior of young pets; Mirumi, a small clip-on mascot robot that spontaneously turns its head toward nearby people; and Nékojita FuFu, a portable robot that blows on hot food or drinks to cool them, debuted at CES Unveiled 2025.
In March 2020, Yukai Engineering secured Series A funding of 500 million yen (approximately $4.6 million USD). The company employs 11 to 50 people according to LinkedIn.
