The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), established in 1988, is a public research university in Sydney, Australia. Its UTS Robotics Institute — launched in October 2023 and evolved from the UTS Centre for Autonomous Systems — brings together over 80 researchers. Research areas include SLAM, infrastructure robotics, assistive and social robotics (including the Haru social robot), autonomous vehicles, biologically inspired robots, underwater drones, and human-robot interaction.
The institute collaborates with government and industry partners in health, agriculture, manufacturing and defence.
