Tuodao Medical is a Nanjing-based surgical robotics company incorporated on July 10, 2019, by founder Dr. Cheng Min, a robotics expert who previously established Robot X Lab before pivoting to medical robotics. The company is a subsidiary of YIJIAHE Group and operates R&D facilities at its Nanjing headquarters—Building 2, Floors 4, 6, 7 and 8, No. 5 Chuangsi Road, Tiexinqiao Street, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing—as well as a Shenzhen R&D center and a Shanghai office at No. 4, Building 6, Floor 6, Kangning Road 288, Jing'an District, Shanghai.
The company has established a five-segment surgical robot platform spanning orthopedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, percutaneous procedures, natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), and intraoperative imaging equipment. Its flagship orthopedic product, the Tuoshou® Trinity Orthopedic General Surgical Robot (NS100), integrates a master control execution system and an optical tracking system, and is cleared for spinal, trauma, and joint surgeries. The NS100 received Chinese market approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The company also conducts clinical trials for its Tuoling® endoscopic surgical robot, which commenced its first urological clinical trial at Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital in March 2024.
Tuodao Medical raised a Series A funding round in April 2022 from investors including LYZZ Capital and Jifeng Ventures. The company targets hospitals across multiple departments—orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, respiratory medicine, and radiology—positioning its robotic platforms as tools to improve surgical precision and reduce surgeon fatigue. Its technology roadmap integrates data algorithms, AI, and high-precision intelligent control to address unmet needs in minimally invasive surgery across China's rapidly growing surgical robot market.
