Company Overview

THK America, Inc. is the North American sales and distribution subsidiary of THK Co., Ltd., a Japanese precision components manufacturer that pioneered rolling-contact linear motion technology. The parent company THK Co., Ltd. was founded in April 1971 in Tokyo, Japan, under the name Toho Seiko Co., Ltd. In 1972, THK became the first company in the world to develop and commercialize the profiled-rail linear guide under the LM Guide brand name. THK America, Inc. was incorporated in Illinois on September 14, 1993, and is headquartered at 200 East Commerce Drive, Schaumburg, IL 60173.

THK America's product portfolio covers the full spectrum of linear and rotary precision motion components. Core product families include LM Guides (linear motion guides) in caged-ball, caged-roller, and miniature variants; Ball Screws and Feed Screws for converting rotary motor torque to precise linear displacement; Ball Splines for simultaneous rotation and linear motion; Cross Roller Rings for compact, high-rigidity rotary joints; linear and rotary Actuators; and a range of Couplings, Link Balls, and Dampers.

These components are integral to industrial robot joints, collaborative robot arms, semiconductor wafer handling equipment, CNC machine tool axes, medical imaging gantries, and aerospace positioning systems. THK's LM Guide is a standard specification component in robot arm designs from virtually all major industrial robot manufacturers. The company serves customers across machine tools, robotics, semiconductor fabrication, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, additive manufacturing, packaging, and entertainment/amusement industries.

THK America maintains regional branch offices across the United States (California, Georgia, Michigan, Massachusetts) and in Canada and Mexico, providing localized sales engineering and application support. In 2022, THK America was ranked the top company in Quality Magazine's annual Quality Leadership rankings. The company holds ISO certifications through its parent THK Co., Ltd. and is a publicly listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (6481).
