THK America, Inc. is the North American sales and distribution subsidiary of THK Co., Ltd., a Japanese precision components manufacturer that pioneered rolling-contact linear motion technology. The parent company THK Co., Ltd. was founded in April 1971 in Tokyo, Japan, under the name Toho Seiko Co., Ltd. In 1972, THK became the first company in the world to develop and commercialize the profiled-rail linear guide under the LM Guide brand name.
