European aerospace startup developing the Nyx family of reusable cargo spacecraft for LEO and lunar cargo delivery missions.
The Exploration Company (TEC) is a European aerospace company founded in July 2021 by Helene Huby and a team of engineers formerly at Airbus and ArianeGroup, headquartered in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. TEC develops Nyx, a modular and reusable spacecraft family designed for cargo transportation to the International Space Station, future commercial space stations, and the Moon. The Nyx Earth variant uses a cylindrical service module paired with a conical re-entry capsule, supports in-orbit refueling, and is designed for up to five reuses per vehicle.
The Nyx Moon variant targets lunar cargo delivery. TEC holds contracts with ESA and in late 2025 opened a new 5,000-square-meter production and operations facility in Oberpfaffenhofen. Additional offices operate across France, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, the US, and the UAE.
