Skeletonics is the product brand of Robot Ride Inc., a company based in Hachioji, Tokyo, Japan, founded in October 2013 and led by CEO Daisuke Miyamoto. It develops and manufactures wearable exoskeleton robots for the entertainment market and runs a US-facing subsidiary site for English-language customers.
The suits contain no motors or electric drive. A patented three-dimensional closed-link structure transfers the wearer's arm, leg, and hand movements to an oversized fiber-reinforced plastic frame, so the pilot's motion is amplified mechanically in a master-slave arrangement. The lineup comprises seven models: Unit 01 and Remake (2.6 m, 40 kg, about five minutes of operation), Practice, the first production model (2.8 m, 35 kg, 30 minutes), Arrive (2.8 m, 40 kg, 60 minutes), the combat-styled Fighter (2.2 m, 30 kg, 60 minutes), the lightweight Mantis (2.2 m, 20 kg, 90 minutes), and the newest Mosquito (2.7 m, 30 kg, 90 minutes). The R-FIGHT program stages exoskeleton bouts.
Revenue comes from day-rate event rentals with operators, media and stage appearances, custom frame and circuit development, and unit sales. Published engagements include Huis Ten Bosch parade units, Tsuburaya Productions' Ultraman Festival, NHK's Red and White Song Festival, the MUSE 2019 world tour, and cockpit work for Toei's King Ohger.
