Company Overview

SENSYN ROBOTICS, Inc. is a Tokyo-based developer of drone, robot and AI solutions for digitizing the inspection and management of social infrastructure. It was founded on October 1, 2015 and is headquartered in the Sumitomo Fudosan Ooimachi Ekimae Building in Oi, Shinagawa-ku. President and CEO Takuya Kitamura leads the company, which had 108 employees as of March 31, 2026.

The technical core is SENSYN CORE, an in-house application development platform with proprietary AI that covers the workflow from sensor and robot data collection to analysis and end-user applications. It has three modules: SENSYN AI (pre-trained models for image, video, audio and text analysis, forecasting and robotics control, with an MLOps loop for retraining), SENSYN Data (field data storage linked to location and equipment records, image-to-3D conversion and statistics) and SENSYN Edge (device control, automated route planning and autonomous data capture that recognizes inspection targets). Published deployments include wind turbine damage detection, crack visualization on exterior wall tiles, real-time anomaly detection for power lines and substation meter reading. Vertical applications include SOLAR Check, POWER GRID Check (with a remote substation patrol app released in beta in October 2026) and BLADE Check. The company also offers the Rakuraku Drone adoption support service, sells Skydio autonomous drones, runs the SENSYN ROBOTICS ACADEMY training program and provides Gembaconnect, a cloud tool for managing equipment defects on floor plans and 360-degree images.

For construction, Sensyn offers solutions for indoor and outdoor remote site patrol, high-place inspection in tight spaces, tunnel imaging where GPS is unavailable and lighting is poor, aerial survey imaging for progress tracking and earthwork volumes, and paperless safety inspection of heavy equipment. Takenaka, Daito Trust Construction and Fujita appear among its customers. With Takenaka Corporation it has co-developed technology on SENSYN CORE since 2021, including BIM-based automated indoor drone flights and Remotebase, a remote robot control system operated with a game controller. In February 2023 the two companies announced a UGV remote control solution that drives ROS-compatible robots, starting with the Clearpath Robotics Jackal, through a 360-degree camera view on a PC. In June 2025 Sensyn and Takenaka signed a capital and business alliance to expand Takenaka's BIM-based construction robot platform for route simulation and remote operation and monitoring of robots.

Since September 2025 Sensyn has been one of six companies in a NEDO-funded project, led by Takenaka within the Construction RX Consortium, to build a common software development platform for construction robots. Sensyn's role is the operations management tool: a system with a standard interface for monitoring and controlling multiple robots from different makers in one place.

Sensyn is venture-backed. Investors include Itochu Technology Ventures (first invested in 2017), Eight Roads Ventures Japan, Nabtesco Technology Ventures, Eneos Innovation Partners, Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank and V-cube. In November 2023 it raised 2.25 billion yen (about USD 15 million) in growth funding that included debt from Japan Finance Corporation and Shoko Chukin Bank.
