Company Overview

Seadronix Corp. is a South Korean developer of AI perception, navigation-assistance and autonomous navigation systems for ships, ports and unmanned surface vessels. The company was founded in December 2015 and is led by CEO Byeolteo Park; he and the company's two CTOs hold KAIST doctorates. It started with a KAIST Lab-to-Biz award and a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries maritime startup prize in 2016. Its headquarters is at 28 Maeam-ro, Nam-gu, Ulsan, with an R&D centre on Teheran-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul and a factory in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul; LinkedIn lists the company at 11-50 employees.

The flagship product NAVISS Bridge is an intelligent around-view navigation system. It fuses images from sensor modules mounted around a vessel into a stitched, distance-proportional top-down view and uses AI to flag obstacles and collision risks that radar and AIS can miss in coastal waters, channels and port approaches. The sensor module measures 207 x 79.2 x 144.1 mm, weighs 1.485 kg, draws 10 W (15 W maximum), operates from minus 25 to 70 degrees C and is rated IP66/IP67. Seadronix says NAVISS has been installed on tankers, bulk carriers, tugboats, wind turbine installation vessels, crew transfer vessels, icebreakers, fisheries research and patrol vessels, fire boats and autonomous navigation vessels, and it calls the around-view an underlying technology for future remote-controlled navigation. NAVISS Compact brings the same functions to ships under 100 tonnes and 30 m with a 180 g sensor module, and NAVISS Hub is a shore-side fleet management platform for real-time remote monitoring, voyage replay and collision-risk statistics. Rec-SEA Player is a software-only package that adds AI object detection and collision alerts to existing ship CCTV cameras.

For ports, AVISS monitors multiple berths using vision and other sensors. It shows ship-to-berth distance and berthing speed, tracks inbound ships from AIS data, predicts collision risk and berth arrival times, and provides berth-occupancy statistics. It has been deployed at oil, bulk, ro-ro and container terminals and with port authorities. Seadronix signed a smart port MOU with Ulsan Port Authority and SKT in 2021 and was a top-three finalist at Singapore's Pier71 Smart Port Challenge in 2022.

The company's work in unmanned and autonomous vessels has grown since 2023. It received a CES 2024 Innovation Award in the Drones and Unmanned category and presented on the future of the IMO MASS Code at an IMO symposium in London in 2023. In May 2025 it signed an MOU with Singapore's Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) at IMDEX Asia to jointly advance unmanned surface vessel capabilities using its AI maritime perception and autonomous navigation, including engineer exchanges. The same month Korea's Ministry of National Defense selected it as an excellent commercial product for pilot use. In 2025 it was also selected for HTX In-Beta, a Singapore government innovation programme. In 2026 it joined the national autonomous ship AI data platform project run by Korea's ocean and trade ministries and the startup forum of the Defense Industry Council of Korea.

Seadronix holds ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Korean Good Software (GS) certification and, from January 2025, a Korean Register type approval certificate. In January 2026 it obtained a direct production certificate for its sensor modules. It is a member of the One Sea autonomous maritime ecosystem association and Korea's M.AX Alliance. In March 2025 it raised a KRW 15 billion (about USD 11.3 million) Series B from LB Investment, KB Investment and the Korea Development Bank, with follow-on investment from Wonik Investment Partners and Lighthouse Combined Investment, and it reported contracts with clients in Singapore and the Netherlands. Recognition includes Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2023, repeated Forbes Korea AI 50 listings and a top-three place in Lloyd's Register's SafetyTech Accelerator in 2023.
