Ontario-based manufacturer of robotic blow-molding automation, case packers, palletizers, and cobot systems for the packaging industry since 1982.
Proco Machinery Inc. is a Canadian automation manufacturer headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, specializing in robotic and automated machinery for the blow-molding and custom bottling/packaging industries. The company was established circa 1980 and launched its first Proco Unloader for shuttle blow-molding machines in 1982. Since then it has grown into a recognized supplier with more than 40 years of in-house design and manufacturing experience, serving customers across Canada and the United States.
Proco's product portfolio centres on labour-saving automation for plastic container production lines. Its flagship Robopak Case-Packer, introduced in 1995, uses six-axis articulated robots to layer-pack empty bottles into boxes, and has since evolved to accommodate a wide range of packaging configurations. The Multipak Packaging System, launched in 2006, extended these capabilities to handle multiple container sizes and formats on a single line. In 2024 the company unveiled a new collaborative-robot (cobot) palletizing system at NPE2024 in Orlando, capable of stacking bottles up to 104 inches in height — significantly exceeding the typical 50–55-inch ceiling of most cobot palletizers. The cobot palletizer, fitted with cobots offering payload ratings from approximately 5 kg to 20 kg, can be reconfigured as a case packer and features a compact, castored footprint for easy integration into existing production lines.
Proco also makes the Robopik takeout system, a cobot-equipped unloader designed for deflashing bottles produced on shuttle-type blow-molding machines. All systems use Yaskawa HC-10 and HC-20 collaborative robots as the motion platform. Recognizing growing demand from small and medium-sized businesses, Proco spun off a sister company, Cobots Inc., based in Mississauga, to focus on cobot automation solutions for the broader packaging sector.
The company employs roughly 20–50 people and operates from its facility at 1111 Brevik Place, Mississauga, Ontario. Its decades of focus on a narrow industrial niche — blow-molding unloading, case packing, and palletizing — have positioned it as a specialist supplier within the North American plastics-packaging automation market.
