Piab Vakuum GmbH is the German sales and application subsidiary of Piab Group, the Swedish vacuum technology specialist founded in 1951 and headquartered in Taby (Danderyd), Sweden. The German entity is located at Schorbachstrase 11, 35510 Butzbach, Germany, and serves customers across the DACH region with the full Piab product portfolio.
Piab Group has been a pioneer in vacuum-based industrial automation for over seven decades. Its core intellectual property is the patented COAX multi-stage ejector cartridge technology, which generates vacuum using compressed air at significantly higher energy efficiency and reliability than conventional single-stage ejectors. COAX cartridges are embedded across Piab's pump, gripper, and conveyor product lines.
The product range distributed by Piab Vakuum GmbH spans four main categories. First, vacuum generators and pumps — including the piGENTLE, piCOMPACT, and QUATTRO families — sized from miniature OEM modules to high-flow centralized systems. Second, suction cups in over 1,000 variants (flat, bellows, oval, foam-padded) for fragile, porous, and irregular surfaces. Third, end-of-arm tooling and gripper systems, such as the Kenos vacuum area grippers (formerly Joulin) for wood, panel, and large-format material handling, and the piSOFTGRIP range for food and soft-goods applications. Fourth, vacuum tube conveyors (piFlow) for gentle, dust-free bulk powder and granule transfer in pharmaceutical and food processing environments.
Since 2018, the parent Piab Group has been owned by Patricia Industries, a subsidiary of Investor AB (Sweden). The group employs more than 1,200 people globally, operates 25+ sales offices, and holds more than 65 patents.
