Company Overview

Nanoflex Robotics AG is a medical robotics company founded in 2021 as a spin-off of ETH Zurich, incorporated in Opfikon, Switzerland. The company was co-founded by Professor Bradley Nelson, Christophe Chautems, and Matt Curran, a former Medtronic senior executive. Nanoflex develops a telerobotic platform that uses magnetic guidance and ultra-flexible robotic devices to navigate through the vasculature and treat critical endovascular diseases, with a primary focus on mechanical thrombectomy for ischemic stroke.

The compact system includes a control unit and patient-side device using magnetism to steer flexible catheters into cerebrovascular anatomy. In December 2023, Nanoflex received ISO 13485 certification for its quality management system covering design and manufacturing of remote robotic devices for endovascular interventions. The company raised over USD 12 million in February 2023 and was ranked 10th in the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Ranking 2024, recognized as the top medical technology startup in Switzerland.
