MULA is a Navarra-based start-up building the MULA 1250, a 4WD electric autonomous carrier with 3-point hitch for orchards and woody crops.
MULA Autonomous Robots SL, trading as MULA Autonomous Farming, is a Spanish agricultural robotics start-up headquartered in Navarra. Future Farming described it in February 2025 as a two-year-old company whose team came from mobility and solar energy. In June 2026 Swanlaab Venture Factory invested in MULA through its Agrifood Tech Fund I in a Series A round, joining existing investor IED.
The company's product is the MULA 1250, a multipurpose, fully electric autonomous platform intended to automate field tasks with conventional implements. Official specifications list 4WD electric traction of 4 x 3 kW nominal and 4 x 6 kW peak power, which MULA compares to a 50 hp tractor, battery options of 32, 44 or 64 kWh, a maximum slope of 35 percent unladen, a width of 1,250 mm, a length of 3,080 mm, a height under 1,900 mm, a turning radius of 2,588 mm and an unladen weight of 1,100 kg without battery. The vehicle carries up to 1,000 kg on a platform with built-in weighing and accepts CAT I and CAT II implements of up to 3,000 kg. It drives autonomously with centimetre-level GPS RTK navigation and can also be driven manually. Future Farming adds that the front wheels steer up to 180 degrees, obstacle detection uses cameras and radar, and fields are mapped and routed in MULA's own software. A 4G connection links each unit to web and mobile fleet management for route planning and real-time monitoring.
Use cases listed by MULA include mowing, spraying with trailed atomisers, seeding, cargo and trailer work, loading and unloading, and harvest support with a dedicated harvester implement. Target customers include Spanish growers of almonds, avocados, blueberries and kiwis. In 2025 the base price was reported at EUR 60,000, with 12 of the 24 vehicles planned for that year pre-ordered and 48 units planned for 2026. MULA premiered the platform at EIMA in Bologna, gave the first public demonstrations at World FIRA, won the ALIMENTA 2025 Innovation Award and exhibited at DATAGRI 2025. It also takes part in the co-financed VitBot project on electric autonomous vehicles for vineyard pest and disease treatment and offers training and farm-digitisation programmes.
