Minitrucks Robotics builds radio-controlled electro-hydraulic mini-trucks in Venissieux for moving loads up to 4 tonnes in tight or harsh sites.
Minitrucks Robotics is a French manufacturer of compact, remote-controlled handling robots designed to carry heavy loads in narrow or harsh environments. The company (SAS, registered November 2023) is located on the USIN campus in Venissieux near Lyon, where its machines are designed and assembled. It is led by co-founder and president Frederic Perrot, a former managing director of ARaymond France, together with Marc Cusset. It has around 12 employees.
Its core product is the minitruck: a radio-controlled, electro-hydraulic motorized platform, offered in electric (battery) or combustion versions, that can transport and handle loads of up to 4 tonnes with a load density of 2 tonnes per square metre at speeds below 5 km/h. Units can be combined and fitted with accessories including a lifting table, a mobile crane, a remote-controlled tipper and a crane chassis; optional functions include autonomous loading, lifting and digging. The range also includes the R.GO mobile workbench, the LNS robot, and custom-built machines such as a robot for underground pipe work in narrow, wet conditions and a mini excavator. The company states that it exports and commissions machines worldwide and works with distributors.
Target sectors are industry, energy and defence; public works and construction; naval and rail transport; underground and mining work; marble and stone work and earthmoving; and landscaping and green spaces.
In January 2024 Minitrucks Robotics raised EUR 1.5 million from Demeter through the FAIM industrial seed fund for Lyon and Saint-Etienne, and at the time planned to deliver 100 machines in 2024 and 300 per year from 2025, and to develop rental offers, international licensing and coachbuilder customization. Its supporters include Bpifrance and Demeter Partners.
