Mentee Robotics is an Israeli AI-first humanoid robotics company that integrates robotics, sensing and artificial intelligence into a bipedal robot, MenteeBot, with human-like dexterity and perception. The robot is designed to be personalized to different environments and tasks through natural human interaction, targeting both households and warehouses. Its AI-first architecture embeds intelligence at every level, using Sim2Real learning for gait and hand movement, NeRF-based real-time 3D mapping and localization, dynamic navigation in complex environments, and large language models to build a cognitive map and execute tasks. MenteeBot learns new skills by observing people, a process the company calls mentoring, and is fully vertically integrated with self-made actuators, on-board sensors and drivers, bespoke electronics and redundant fail-safe compute.
The company was founded in 2022 in Herzliya, Israel by Prof. Amnon Shashua (Chairman and Co-Founder, also Mobileye CEO), Prof. Lior Wolf (CEO and Co-Founder) and Prof. Shai Shalev-Shwartz (Co-Founder). It raised a venture round of roughly 17 million dollars in April 2024, with reported total funding exceeding 40 million dollars, and was acquired by Mobileye Global in February 2026 in a deal reported at around 900 million dollars. The current flagship, MenteeBot V3, stands 175 cm tall, weighs 70 kg, moves at up to 1.5 m/s, handles payloads up to 25 kg, has 40 degrees of freedom and a hot-swappable battery for continuous operation.
