"Melt the boundary between people and technology"
Tokyo maker, founded 2021 as Diver-X, of EMF-tracked ContactGlove data gloves; ContactGlove3 Pro targets robot teleoperation and imitation-learning data.
Melt Interface Technologies, Inc. (Melt Interface Technologies Kabushiki Kaisha), known until 30 June 2026 as Diver-X Inc., is a Tokyo developer of human-computer interface hardware, best known for the ContactGlove line of glove-type VR controllers and hand-tracking data gloves. The company is headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
Diver-X was founded in March 2021 by Yamato Sakoda and Kei Asano, both born in 2002 and both members of the Masason Foundation; Sakoda is Representative Director. About six months after founding, in September 2021, the company raised JPY 30 million from DEEPCORE. Its first product, ContactGlove, was presented as a VR-compatible glove-type controller with haptic feedback, combining a shape memory alloy and linear resonant actuator haptic module with magnetic finger-tracking sensors, and was launched on Kickstarter. As of September 2026 the company had capital of JPY 50 million and 13 insured employees.
On 24 June 2026 the company announced that it would change its name to Melt Interface Technologies, effective 1 July 2026, to reflect that it designs "interfaces themselves" rather than peripherals. It organizes its work into three businesses under a common human-technology interface theme: Contact (XR and robotics gloves), Melt Interface (general-purpose input devices) and Solutions (B2B contract development).
The same day it announced two gloves. ContactGlove3 is a SteamVR-compatible glove controller with open fingertips, used with the Magnetra3 controller module. It uses electromagnetic field (EMF) tracking to measure five fingers in 6 DoF absolute position with a median position error of 0.5 mm (max 1.5 mm) and median orientation error of 0.4 degrees (max 1 degree), outputs data at 100 Hz or higher with about 30 ms latency, provides vibration feedback through the company's Haptic Reactor, and runs 8-10 hours on a 1,200 mAh USB-C charged battery. It is priced at JPY 99,800 (from USD 699.99 internationally), with pre-orders from 23 June 2026 and shipping expected from October 2026.
ContactGlove3 Pro is a robotics data glove aimed at robot teleoperation, task data collection and imitation learning. It uses the same EMF tracking with 5-finger 6-DoF measurement, 100 Hz or higher data rate, 30 ms or less latency and 8-10 hour battery life, connects over USB or BLE, and ships SDKs for C++, Python, ROS 2, Unity, Unreal Engine and MotionBuilder on Linux, macOS and Windows. Pricing starts at USD 3,999 (JPY 498,000), with sales starting October 2026.
In October 2025 the company launched Melt Mouse on Kickstarter, a creator-focused device that combines mouse, trackpad and numpad modes, uses haptics instead of physical buttons, has a CNC-machined aluminum body with a tempered glass top, and is configured through Melt Studio software. The company also announced a ContactTrack business transfer in October 2025 and the acquisition of the EXOS business in January 2026.
On 9 September 2026 Melt Interface Technologies and ugo Inc., a Tokyo physical-AI and service-robot company, announced a partnership to co-develop a wearable data collection device for imitation learning and teleoperation of humanoid robots. Melt Interface Technologies will develop the device using its ContactGlove EMF hand-tracking technology, while ugo handles robot integration and robot learning, including its Imitation Learning Kit for AI Robots; the partners target commercialization in 2027.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
EMF hand-tracking data glove with ROS 2/Python/C++ SDKs for robot teleoperation and imitation learning
SteamVR glove controller with EMF absolute finger tracking and vibrotactile feedback
Haptic multi-mode mouse, trackpad and numpad input device for creators, configured via Melt Studio
