"Take Your Greenhouse to Greatness!"
Seoul agtech firm founded 2018 making HERMAI greenhouse robots for scouting, spraying and harvest transport, plus Grotecture farm OS used by about 700 farms.
ioCrops Inc. (agricultural corporation) is a South Korean agtech company incorporated in August 2018 and headquartered in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Its CEO is Jin-hyung Cho. The company combines AI-based cultivation software, IoT sensors and greenhouse robots with the stated goal of automating the full agricultural production process up to unmanned farms. Besides selling technology, ioCrops directly operates about 7 ha of smart greenhouses in Korea and sells whole ripe tomatoes and tomato juice.
The robot line is called HERMAI. All units share one autonomous drive unit that plans travel paths along designated greenhouse routes, avoids obstacles and accepts swappable task modules, with data and task results reported to a dashboard. The HERMAI Scout Robot, introduced in 2023, uses AI vision to monitor crop growth, predict yields and support fruit-set strategy. The HERMAI Spray Robot, launched in 2024, automates pest control, pest monitoring, selection of target treatment areas and digital spray records. The HERMAI Transport Robot, also launched in 2024, carries harvested crops and records actual harvest quantities; the company reports about 10% shorter harvest time and roughly one fewer harvest worker per ten. A HERMAI Harvest Robot was announced for the first half of 2025. ioCrops also offers a semi-automatic sprayer.
Software and data products are grouped as FTVC (Full Tech Value Chain): Grotecture, a greenhouse operating system that standardises farm work into production management; ioFarm data-based cultivation solutions; Ation, a data-driven labour and work management tool; ioCrops Sensor IoT units including soil moisture sensors; and a Control Center for greenhouse operations. The company reports about 700 farm customers as of February 2026, including Korean growers and North American greenhouses such as Fehr View Acres, Prism Farms and Union Acres. Saudi Greenhouses adopted Ation in January 2024. Collaborators include Priva, Ridder, Neuromeka, Nongshim and Wageningen University.
ioCrops raised a seed round of KRW 300 million (May 2019), was selected for the TIPS R&D programme (December 2019), raised a KRW 1.8 billion pre-Series A (May 2021) and a KRW 7 billion Series A (November 2022). Investors include POSTECH Holdings, Base Ventures, Isu Venture Capital, Capstone Partners, BNK Venture Capital, CKD Venture Capital, DSC Investment, Quad Ventures and Daesung Venture Capital. It obtained ISO 9001 certification for robot and sensor development in August 2025 and won the grand prize at the 2025 agri-food startup contest.
