Innophys Co., Ltd. was founded on December 27, 2013, as a venture company spun out of Professor Hiroshi Kobayashi's laboratory at Tokyo University of Science, where Muscle Suit R&D began in 2000. Headquartered in Hachioji, Tokyo, with a Kagurazaka showroom (opened May 2025) at Tokyo University of Science Building No. 13, and a Germany representative office in Essen (opened June 2025), Innophys develops, manufactures, and distributes wearable exoskeleton suits powered by pneumatic artificial muscles (McKibben-type) that require no electricity. The core product line — the Muscle Suit series — provides back and arm support for lifting-intensive work.
