Company Overview

Hitch Interactive is an embodied-AI company in San Ramon, California, that sells and rents humanoid robots, runs physical-AI competitions, trains engineers and maintains robots in the field. Its co-founder is Dr. Allen Y. Yang of UC Berkeley, whose ROAR autonomous racing team won the Indy Autonomous Challenge title at CES in January 2025. The company describes itself as a hub that runs the arenas, teaches the skills, stocks the robots and keeps them running, with bilingual English and Chinese engineering teams working across US and Asian robotics ecosystems.

The Robotics Superstore carries third-party hardware for purchase or rental: AgiBot A3 full-size humanoids, G2 and G2 Air industrial embodied robots, X2 half-size humanoids, the D1 quadruped series, OmniHand dexterous hands, the OmniPicker gripper and C-series cleaning robots; Fictionlab Leo Rover and Raph Rover research rovers, listed from 5,500 to 14,800 US dollars; and CHINGMU motion-capture cameras and gloves. Rentals run as monthly Rent-a-Robot plans, mainly for six- to twelve-month pilots, with deployment, training and maintenance included. A service arm offers embodied-AI consulting on perception, training and data-collection stacks, humanoid skill training, sim-to-real deployment and benchmarking, and a local maintenance network supplying spare parts, preventive and corrective repair and help with FCC and UL-class certification, based in the Bay Area with a planned remote-support node in Toronto.

Competition work runs under the Hitch Open brand. HOPE, an autonomous humanoid table tennis challenge with no teleoperation, debuted at WAIC 2026 in Shanghai and ran as an official event of the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games at Beijing's Ice Ribbon in August 2026, where 12 teams competed on identical AgiBot A3 robots. The Hitch Open World AI Racing Championships stage fully autonomous racing on the 99 bends of Tianmen Mountain; the 2025 season set an AI record of 16 minutes 10.838 seconds. The competition site credits the Intelligentracing Foundation as organiser, with AgiBot as official robot sponsor and OptiTrack as motion-capture sponsor. Code is published on the Hitch Open GitHub organisation, including the Apache-licensed HOPE humanoid table tennis platform, a localization and perception reference design called Hitch Sensor Dome, and a ROS 2 bag to AWSIM map converter.

Hitch Academy offers Python, computer vision, deep learning and autonomous driving courses, the ROAR Academy camp for grades 10 to 12, and embodied-AI training with AgiBot hardware and the Genie Studio platform, and cites 11 partner universities. In July 2026 it opened the Caohejing-Hitch Open Physical Intelligence Joint Innovation Center in Shanghai with Caohejing Hi-Tech Park, and in September 2026 it announced a partnership with JOYX in which Hitch supplies its platform, standardized robot interfaces and real-world environments for JOYX's verified robot training data.
