Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (stock code SSE: 600460) is a Chinese integrated device manufacturer (IDM) founded in September 1997 and headquartered in the Hangzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhejiang province. The company was China's first domestically listed integrated-circuit design enterprise, going public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in March 2003, and has since grown into one of the country's larger IC design-and-manufacturing groups, combining in-house wafer fabrication with chip design, packaging and testing across facilities producing more than 220,000 wafers per month at multiple wafer sizes.
Silan's product range centers on power semiconductors and analog/mixed-signal ICs. Its discrete-device line includes low- and high-voltage MOSFETs, IGBTs (planar, trench, SiC-hybrid and reverse-conducting variants) and diodes. Its intelligent power module (IPM) line, packaged across DIP2V/SOP2V, DIP-23 through DIP-T46A footprints, integrates power switches with gate-drive circuitry for motor-control and home-appliance applications. Other product families include AC-DC and DC-DC power-management ICs and LED-driver circuits; 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers, including MCUs with integrated motor-drive capability; MEMS sensors covering triaxial accelerometers, six-axis inertial sensors, proximity/ambient-light sensors, heart-rate sensors and silicon microphones; and GaN/GaAs LED chips for lighting, display and automotive applications.
The company reports a technical workforce of roughly 3,700 people, including close to 500 IC design engineers and more than 3,300 staff across chip processing, packaging and test, with over 400 holding doctoral or master's degrees. Its IPM and MCU product lines are used by manufacturers of motor drives, variable-frequency appliances and industrial control equipment, making Silan a component-level supplier into the actuation and power-electronics layer of automated machinery rather than a robot or system builder itself. The company has also continued expanding its silicon-carbide (SiC) power-device line, a segment increasingly used in electric-vehicle and renewable-energy power electronics, alongside its established silicon-based IGBT and MOSFET product families. Silan's combination of in-house wafer fabrication with packaging and test under one roof lets it control the full process chain for its discrete devices and modules, rather than relying on external foundry or assembly subcontractors for those product lines.
