"Leading Field AI Robotics for Real Work"
Seoul-based Daedong Group robotics affiliate building the RT100 electric field transport robot for farms, now piloting it on GS E&C construction sites.
Daedong Robotics is the AI and robotics affiliate of the Daedong Group, the Korean agricultural machinery group whose history goes back to 1947 and whose KIOTI tractor brand is sold in about 70 countries. The company was incorporated on 31 October 2024, grew out of robotics work the group had been running for several years, and describes itself as a company that plans, designs, manufactures and sells robots for agricultural and non-agricultural field sites. Its headquarters are on the third floor of the Seogwang Building, 347 Hyoryeong-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and robots are built at the group's S-Factory in the Guji industrial complex, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. The startup database THE VC lists about 45 employees as of August 2026, with Won Yoo-hyun and Kang Sung-cheol as co-CEOs; Kang took office as CEO in January 2026.
The group's robotics track record listed on the company history page includes a smart robot chair proof of concept at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (2022), the opening of the Daedong-KIRO Robotics Center with the Korea Institute of Robotics and Technology Convergence (January 2023), a field demonstration of the transport robot in Pyeongchang (November 2023), a contract for special-mission robots at a POSCO steel plant (December 2023), the launch of the RoboMore brand for North America and Europe (April 2024), selection as operator of an indoor robot demonstration at Yeungnam University Medical Center (June 2024), and trials of transport and disinfection robot prototypes (September 2024). The transport robot was launched in February 2025 and was shown at CES 2025.
The current product is the RT100 electric transport robot, offered as the RT100 TS with remote and tether-following control and the RT100 TA with autonomous navigation. Official specifications give a 300 kg payload, towing of up to 1 tonne with an optional hitch, a top speed of 8 km/h, a 30 percent (16.7 degree) gradeability, four 800 W motors, two swappable 48 V 30 Ah batteries for about four hours of continuous running, a 380 kg curb weight, a tipping bed with 520 mm lift and a 40.3 degree dump angle, and truck-type or open deck options. The TA version follows saved routes of up to 11 waypoints per farm, can store 10 farms, and uses a high-precision antenna, camera and LiDAR for positioning and obstacle stops. A companion app reports status, consumables and faults, and sales and service run through Daedong's dealer network of about 130 dealers in Korea. Korean press coverage of the April 2026 Daedong TechDay reported LLM-based voice commands and planned mowing, spraying and orchard attachments, with smaller and larger models planned by 2030.
Daedong Robotics is extending the platform beyond farms. In June 2026 it signed an MOU with GS Engineering & Construction to pilot its autonomous mobile robots on construction sites for material transport and repetitive labor-intensive tasks, and then to co-develop construction-specific robot models using the field data. Company plans cited in the press also include scrap collection at steel mills and construction material transport and signalling. In July 2026 it closed a KRW 5 billion Series A from Xplore Investment (a GS E&C affiliate), POSCO Technology Investment and NowIB Capital, and said it would expand mowing and pest-control robots and move towards a robot-as-a-service model. In August 2026 it announced plans with Rainbow Robotics to co-develop an agricultural robot called Agroid. In September 2025 it co-founded the AI FAMR agricultural and field AI robot council with Neuromeka, Aidin Robotics and five other Korean firms.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Electric field carrier that follows saved waypoint routes using a high-precision antenna, camera and LiDAR, with remote and tether-following modes and a tipping bed.
Electric wheeled field carrier driven by wireless remote (80 m) or a tether-following sensor, with truck-type or open deck and 360-degree in-place turning.
