"Ensemble, optimisons votre performance industrielle"
Commercy Robotique, a SPIE Industrie unit in Commercy, builds FANUC and KUKA robotic welding cells and has over 1,500 installations worldwide.
Commercy Robotique (CYR) is a French manufacturer and integrator of robotic welding systems based in Commercy, in the Meuse department of north-eastern France. It now operates as a department of SPIE Industrie. The business traces its roots to the Forges et Acieries de Commercy, founded in 1898, and to Commercy Soudure, created in 1948, which began making arc welding power sources in 1953. Commercy launched the CY800 in 1985, presented as the first fully French-built robot, and sold more than 200 CY-series robots over ten years; it had earlier installed about 50 Shin Meiwa robots from 1978 and began working with FANUC in 1987. The current company was set up in 2013 when the CIMLEC group bought Commercy Soudure from Air Liquide Welding and created a robotics subsidiary. CIMLEC, including Commercy Robotique, was acquired by SPIE Industrie in 2019; Commercy Robotique was folded into CIMLEC Industrie in 2020 and became a department of SPIE Industrie in 2023.
The company reports more than 1,500 robotic installations worldwide, more than 880 FANUC robots installed in Europe, and around 200 clients under service contract. It employs about 40 people, including 10 field maintenance technicians, and operates 6,000 m2 of premises in Commercy for assembly and spare parts, plus an approved training centre.
Its offer covers standard configurable robotic welding cells for parts of different sizes and weights, with or without positioners; custom welding installations; tooling design through commissioning; retrofit and functional upgrades of existing cells; used and refurbished machines reconditioned in its workshop; and suspended-mount cobot welding solutions. Partner brands are FANUC and KUKA for robots and Lincoln, Lorch, Kemppi, Fronius and OTC for welding equipment, and the company sells SERVO-ROBOT WiKi-SCAN 2.0 and WiKi-COBO weld inspection cameras exclusively. Services include preventive maintenance, robotics and welding training, after-sales support, audits and offline programming.
